Job Description
Title: Network Engineer
Summary
This is an IT service and support position working with clients of Simplified IT Solutions. You will be highly mobile, working onsite, interacting with client staff, working independently and resourcefully, at times under pressure, and filling most if not all IT roles in a variety of Windows-based office network environments. We're looking for a skilled, people-oriented engineer who thrives on problem-solving and the satisfaction of providing exceptional IT support.
Responsibilities

Help our business clients use IT successfully, address their problems, and ensure a smooth and productive end-user experience in a friendly and professional manner.

Deploy and maintain all LAN (and some WAN) systems--end-point devices, servers, software, networking, Internet services--for optimal performance and reliability.

Work with 3rd party vendors and providers to recommend, acquire and/or deploy the best and most appropriate products and services for our clients.

Travel daily to client locations along the Front Range, and perform remote support and managed services as needed.

Work primarily 8-5, M-F, while being available to handle occasional off-hour emergencies and system maintenance as needed.

Work independently while collaborating with co-workers, clients and vendors.
Requirements
Work Experience:
-
5+ years providing a broad array of IT services and support in Windows-based network environments.
Skills:

Able to remain calm and focused under pressure.

Advanced technical skills required:
- PC and laptop deployment, management, security and support; printers and peripherals, too.
- Microsoft Windows (all editions from 2000 forward) and MS Office (2000+) deployment, management and support
- Ethernet network deployment, management and support--including LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet and wireless
- Windows server deployment, management, and support--in the following roles: AD/DNS, file service, application, Hyper-V, TS/RDS; and the following features: DHCP, RRAS, access controls and security.
- Hardware specification, acquisition, troubleshooting, lifecycle and vendor warranty support management
- Software acquisition, installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, licensing and vendor maintenance support management
- Internet and 3rd-party Internet-based services deployment, management and support--includes ISPs, DNS, email, cloud/SaaS, etc.
- Data protection (backup & restore) deployment, management and support
- System recovery management--including disk/partition imaging, Windows System Restore, Windows Server Backup
- Windows Group Policy
- Cisco IOS configuration and troubleshooting expertise
- Server virtualization using VMWare and/or Hyper-V
- Microsoft server products such as: SQL Server, Exchange, etc.
- SAN
- Smartphone configuration
- VoIP
- Macintosh
- Linux
